The Greatest Story Ever Told Week 1

The Greatest Story Ever Told Week 1

The story of Christmas did not begin in the manger. To fully appreciate the story of Christmas, you need to understand the story of the Bible. In our new series entitled The Greatest Story Ever Told, we're seeking to provide a fresh perspective on the familiar account we celebrate at Christmas. In this first message of the series, Pastor Skyler takes us back to the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3. Why did Jesus come on Christmas? Because even way back at the beginning, we learn that sin always brings death. Man cannot pay for his own sin--only God can cover that. Join us for a replay of this message for a renewed perspective as you prepare for Christmas this year.

You could sum up the entire book of Galatians with one word: Grace. If you have placed your faith in Christ, you have been saved by grace through faith! While many are caught up in trying to earn their Salvation, God reveals his heart for us and reminds us to stop trying to earn his love and start learning to accept it. It’s time to live free in the fullness of life given to us!

Samuel Johnson once wrote that "People need to be reminded more often than they need to be instructed." In Galatians 3, Paul is trying to remind his readers what they already had been instructed: God wants us to live by faith. In this message, Pastor Carlos reminds us that if we are not careful, we can easily fall prey to other voices preaching a different gospel. Even at our best we are desperate for God. We are not slaves to earning God's favor. We have been set free by grace.

When C.S. Lewis was asked what belief was unique to the Christian faith, his response was "Oh, that's easy. It's grace." We kick off our new series entitled Set Free, which is a study of the book of Galatians. One could summarize the entire book of Galatians with this phrase: Freedom through Grace. Join us for this replay as Pastor Skyler walks through Galatians 1, sharing what grace really is and why we so easily miss the profound importance of grace in our daily life.
