Oh The Places You'll Go Week 3
Too often people think they're not good enough for God. They think they have to clean up before they can come to church, as if God can't deal with our mess. This can lead to spiritual apathy, eroding our faith, settling for powerlessness. Or it can lead to spiritual acting, pretending, putting the life we want on display instead of what is true. In this message, Pastor Skyler reminds us from 2 Corinthians 5 that a life of apathy or pretending is not what we've been called to. God can take our messiness and turn it into holiness, for His good and His glory. What does it look like to trust God in your mess?
Oh The Places You'll Go Week 2
Names are important! Beyond what people call us and what we call them, sometimes there are names we call ourselves. Every time we say a name out loud, we believe it more deeply. In this message, Pastor Skyler shares from the life of Gideon in Judges 6 and 7. Before God gives Gideon a dream, He gives him a new name: Oh Mighty Man of Valor. And He gives Gideon a promise: I will be with you. In this message, you'll be reminded that God always calls us what we're called for.. Somewhere between here and disaster, God will show up. You're invited to share this message with your family and friends.
Oh The Places You'll Go Week 1
Bang ups & hang ups happen to us all. Together we are going to learn how to unslump our lives by remembering and forgetting. Jesus tells us to remember the things we tend to forget, not forget the things we should remember.
A Faith That Works
Without regular maintenance and attention an engine will stop working. Our faith is no different. Do you have a faith that works, Or has it become weak and no longer doing what it was meant to do in your life? In this message pastor Kip looks at principles of a faith that works. Because Belief only becomes true faith when I believe it enough to act in obedience to it.
Living Kingdom-Minded
John the Baptist was laser focused on the message of repentance, to prepare people for the Messiah. He was the announcer--the opening act, so to speak--of the ministry of Jesus. In this last message of the year, Pastor Andrew walks us through Luke 3, John 3, and Mark 9 to show how John the Baptist illustrates kingdom-minded living. John shows what it means to submit our life to Christ, that life is not about us. It's amazing what can be done in the kingdom of God when we seek first the things of God. This message is a perfect opportunity for us to reflect on priorities as we move into a new year.
Christmas Eve At Heritage
Make time this Christmas to gather with the people you love, to remember what matters the most, and to celebrate the birth of a Savior. We invite you to take a deep breath this holiday season, and make time with your friends and family to join us as we reflect and celebrate!
The Greatest Story Ever Told Week 4
The story of Christmas did not begin with Jesus’ birth, it began the moment God breathed into creation. To fully appreciate the spirit of Christmas, we must understand the story of the Bible. It is a journey of Sin to Savior, Slavery to Freedom and Despair to Deliverance. May we discover the story of Christmas again with fresh eyes and open hearts.
The Greatest Story Ever Told Week 3
A classic story told this time of year is Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. It offers a timeless lesson that seeing things from the perspective of the future--especially when it involves suffering or death--opens our eyes, changing how we live today. We continue our Greatest Story Ever Told series with this message from Luke 16, regarding the story Jesus told about a rich man and a beggar named Lazarus. Just as the rich man was blinded by his wealth, Pastor Carlos shows how we all need to open our eyes to see the idols that blind us to the invisible people around us and to the riches of Christ that are available to those who have been adopted into the kingdom of God.
