Breathing Room: Margin in our Morals
We seem to always be trying to run our lives at maximum capacity. Even when we get vacation time, we almost always seem to be "red-lining". In this message, Pastor Skyler talks about creating some space between us and the things that could really destroy us. No one sets out to destroy their life, but somehow temptation beckons us into danger. This is where moral margin comes in.
January 22, 2017 Service
Miles Beatty, Chairman of our Elder Team, sits with Pastor Skyler and Pastor Brian to discuss Pastor Brian's call to a new church.
Breathing Room: Margin for our Minutes
God designed a rythm for us: run and rest, run and rest. Yet our lives are more characterized as run and run. In this message, Pastor Skyler walks us through Psalm 90, reminding us that if we could see God as He is, we would give Him the trust He is due. If we could see ourselves in light of God's timeline, we would care for the time we've been given in a greater way.
Please share this message with friends and family, reminding us all to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Breathing Room: Margin
Even though it is a new year, most of us carry with us the same problems from the previous year and the lack of time to figure them out. This is a problem unique to our age. Even when we are not "at work" we are looking at our email. It is a problem of a lack of margin. We are so used to filling our lives to the max, that we literally have no breathing room--and we think this is completely normal.
In this message from Luke 10 and Matthew 11, Pastor Skyler shows how margin gives us the breathing room we need to know God and live life at its finest.
New Year's 2017
At Heritage Church, we unapologetically follow Jesus. In Him, we find one of the most compelling figures in all of history. In this New Year's message from Luke 19, Pastor Kip unpacks how Jesus had the power to draw people to himself, no matter what they had done or who they were. In 2017, nothing is going to stop us from engaging in the same mission as Jesus.
Christmas Eve 2016
Light versus dark is the eternal battle of the ages. Jesus is the champion of the light and is Himself the light. This Christmas Eve we come together to celebrate the Light and sing the songs of the season.
Rejected One
Christmas is a time of hope and expectation. Even people who don't know the Christmas story can feel the miracle of hope. The bizarre reality about Jesus' coming is that even though he was the "long awaited one", he was simultaneously the "rejected one." In this message, Pastor Skyler wraps up our series by reminding us that Jesus came as a baby specifically to be despised and rejected on the cross, in order to be our Savior.
