There is something about hearing the bells ringing across town that really signifies the arrival of Christmas. Trees and decorations start making appearances in stores in October, but the feeling of the season doesn't really sink in until you hear those bells as you make your routine shopping trips to grocery stores, the mall and Mariano's. The bell ringing season starts each November and runs through Christmas Eve when the red kettles are packed away for the season. Volunteers are the difference between an empty kettle and one that raises about $30 per hour – enough to provide a family with two bags of groceries or shelter an individual for a night. Heritage Church is honored to be a part of this legacy!
Our church will be serving with the Salvation Army at Mariano's in Lake Zurich on December 17. Sign up for a time slot to serve here.
