Missions &
Outreach Ministry
at Heritage
Church!
At
Heritage Church, both foreign and domestic missions have always
been an integral part of our purpose. From our very inception,
God planted a seed for missions which many have watered… most
notably Rev. Richard Grubb, without whom we would not be nearly
as effective.
In a very consistent way, that seed has continued to grow in two ways.
Firstly, as an outreach to Haiti, Spain, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Camden,
NJ, apostolic missions groups and other general benevolences such as women’s
shelters for victims of domestic violence, care centers for terminally ill
children, holiday food baskets and other needs that we are able to meet.
Secondly, we facilitate and train people to serve on life changing short-term
mission trips that we organize through out the year. People learn how to respect,
serve, work as a team and receive from those in other countries.
For more information on the various ministries supported by Heritage Church
and with whom Heritage Church is a co-partner, please see below.
Guatemala
In 2001, we,
at Heritage Church were made aware of a ministry called “Cocina
del Amor”… Kitchen of Love in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
I quote from their brochure:
“Every
day, the number of abandoned children wandering the streets increases.
On their way, they encounter starvation, perversion, drugs, prostitution
and ugly vulnerabilities too numerous to mention.
For this reason, God’s heart was moved to create this ministry. At present,
we provide 3 meals a day, education, medical services and biblical instruction.”
Pastor Jose’ Alverez
has a mantle and a mandate to serve the poor. He and his family
have established the “Kitchen of Love” ministry not
only in Guatemala City, but also in other areas of Guatemala,
Cuba, and Honduras.
Since 2001, we have been sending teams into Guatemala to serve Pastor Jose’ and
his team. We have helped build a multipurpose complex in the mountains that
will provide team housing, serve the malnourished and impoverished in one of
the more remote areas of the nation. Our teams have participated in all kinds
of physical labor carrying rocks, painting buildings, cooking meals, serving
the children, washing dishes, packing food to be distributed to the poor, and
sponsoring competitions where the local schools compete for school supplies.
Our teams have participated in many church services in these locations and
have witnessed many miracles and moves of the Holy Spirit.

Spain
Heritage Church
began supporting Jeff, Wendy, their family of six children and
their ministry to Spain in the early 90’s.
With a clear call from God, the Steen’s moved from the comfortable mid—west
to the very spiritually dry country of Spain. They spent many years faithfully
ministering to the people and pastors with whom they began to build relationships… often
fighting the discouragement of being away from home, raising a family in a
foreign country, the slow progress of building a church in a foreign country
and the challenges of maintaining financial support for the ministry.
Through it all, God has seen their faithfulness and now, as the scripture says,
they have been given authority over much. They continue to be able to plant
churches, encourage pastors and are presently pastoring a large church in Valencia.
We at Heritage Church are privileged to be able to have co-partnered with them
for so many years and look forward to a continuing relationship.
Urban
Promise (Camden NJ)
Started in
1988, Urban Promise is a ministry designed to equip Camden's
children and young adults with the skills necessary for academic
achievement, life management, spiritual growth and Christian
leadership.
Our financial support of this ministry over the years exemplifies our commitment
to invest in ministries that have resources and opportunity that are different
from ours, but with whom we can become a “value added” partner
for the sake of the Kingdom.
Heritage Church considers it a privilege to be able to support such a fine,
solid organization that is successfully working in one of the most dangerous
and needy cities in America.
Haiti
Haiti was
the very first foreign mission that we, as Heritage Church, took
on in 1985. Rev. Richard Grubb, who was on the field in Haiti
for many years, was responsible for introducing us to Pastor
Carlo Thomas.
Pastor Carlo is an apostolic brother who has planted and also oversees many
churches in the poorest parts of Haiti.
Through all of the monumental changes that have taken place since the overthrow
of “Baby Doc” many years ago, Pastor Carlo has remained steadfast
in his service to the homeland. He is often in great danger and has had to
flee to safer surroundings many times.
Due to the ongoing issues of unrest and danger in the country, we have been
unable to send a team in for ministry. Our hope is that it will change and
we will once again be able to go and minister hope, health, and healing in
Christ Jesus to those who are in the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere.
Heritage
Builders International
Heritage Builders
International is an apostolic/prophetic ministry that was formed
in 2006. Our vision is to serve and encourage leaders and churches
within their God-given sphere of influence and calling.
Our
purpose is to encourage people from an apostolic perspective,
with biblical principles, in a practical way.
Over
the years we have discovered that there are needs within the
Body of Christ that are, for all intents and purposes, largely
universal. The need for pastors and particularly their spouses
and children to be encouraged through the challenges they face
in the ministry and as a ministry family; the need for ministry
marriages to be strengthened; the need for leaders to be trained
and taught essential truths from different perspectives; the
need for churches and leaders to be prophetically encouraged
in the vision God has given them; the need for church leaders
and business people to work synergistically to promote effective
Kingdom building strategies that would impact nations; the need
to encourage the kind of vision and faith within an individual
or group that when acted upon places a demand on God to move;
the need to be taught what it means to be committed to the purposes
of a greater Kingdom whole.
While
these needs are not exhaustive, they do point to needs within
the Body of Christ that we would like to address. Our preferred
method of addressing these needs is by building through relationships.
It is difficult to minister to a need unless you are able to
understand the need… and it is difficult to understand
a need until you have sufficient, honest relational ties that
allow for openness in the midst of any needful situation. Furthermore,
in order to build this kind or relational tie, quality time must
be prioritized and invested accordingly.
Heritage
Builders Int’l. is an organization that seeks to build
meaningful relational ties that provide the underpinning for
greater relational synergy.
L.E.A.D.
In 2006, Heritage
Church began supporting L.E.A.D. L.E.A.D. is a servant ministry
of Dr.John P. Kelly to help men and women that God has called
to guide and lead churches, missions, and apostolic networks.
L.E.A.D. is an acronym for Leadership, Education, Apostolic and
Development.
Apostle Kelly
and his wife Helena have been an apostolic covering to Pastor
Dion and Irene since 1980. Through the years of serving together
it is evident that God has relationally joined us together for
His Kingdom purpose. We are proud to be able to support and give
back to those who have faithfully brought an apostolic impartation
to us.
